SAMI LIGHTS UP LAAMP

In coordination with The SAMI Foundation, The Los Angeles Academy of Artists, Musicians and Producers has established the SAMI LIBER Music Scholarship. This scholarship is set to be awarded for the very first time this upcoming Fall season to a promising young talent who demonstrates exceptional potential in the realm of music and artistry. The creation of this scholarship reflects LAAMP's commitment to nurturing the next generation of musicians, artists, and producers, providing them with the resources and opportunities necessary to thrive in the competitive music industry.

LAAMP offers an intensive and immersive one-year program designed specifically for contemporary artists, songwriters, and music producers, located in the vibrant community of Santa Monica, California. This program is not only rigorous but also tailored to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge needed to excel in their respective fields. The program was meticulously created and curated by the renowned Tor Hermansen and Mikkel Eriksen, the Grammy-winning production duo famously known as Stargate. Their impressive career has seen them craft numerous Billboard-topping hits for a plethora of iconic artists, including but not limited to Beyoncé, Rihanna, Katy Perry, and Ne-Yo. Their contributions to the music industry have earned them numerous accolades, including the prestigious ASCAP Songwriters of the Year award, along with a multitude of chart-topping singles that have left an indelible mark on contemporary music.

Sami, the namesake of the scholarship, had an immense passion for music that permeated every aspect of her life. In addition to her artistic pursuits, Sami shared a close friendship with Selma Eriksen, who is carving her own path in the music industry while following in the footsteps of her father, Mikkel Eriksen. Selma is an aspiring singer-songwriter, and she has already made significant strides in her career, boasting millions of plays on Spotify, which is a testament to her talent and the growing recognition she is receiving in the music community.
