Classmates Sing For SAMI

On Sunday, May 3rd, more than 150 people came together for Sami's Playlist — a fundraising event organized by Brentwood School classmates to honor Sami's memory and support The SAMI Foundation's mission of bringing art and music supplies to children in hospitals, shelters, and classrooms.
The afternoon was exactly the kind of day Sami would have loved.

Guests arrived to music spun by co-host and classmate Jagger Levinsohn, whose DJ sets before and after the performances kept the energy warm and the afternoon celebratory. And in a nod to one of Sami's favorite spots, the crowd was fed by Raising Cane's — a detail that felt less like catering and more like an act of remembrance.

The heart of the evening was the music. Host and recording artist Selma Eriksen — a classmate of Sami's — led the performances, singing from the playlist Sami loved. She was joined by fellow classmates Chase Klein and Caitlyn Byk, and by Soraya, a student from LAAMP (Los Angeles Academy of Music & Performance), whose presence underscored the very spirit the foundation exists to nurture: young people whose lives are shaped by music.
Over $10,000 was raised in just a few hours by those who showed up for Sami and SAMI, a reminder that grief and joy can occupy the same space when the love behind them is strong enough.
