The SAMI Foundation has awarded a grant to KIPP SoCal Public Schools to ensure that 20 art classrooms across the region are fully stocked and ready for the new school year. This support means that students in underserved communities will begin the year with access to quality art materials that can spark creativity, encourage self-expression, and enhance learning.

In addition to funding these classrooms, The SAMI Foundation personally delivered more than 200 classroom items to two dedicated KIPP educators, Carmina Cortez and Andy Hahn. Both teachers have gone above and beyond for their students, often spending their own money to provide necessary materials. These new supplies will help them create inspiring, well-equipped learning environments from day one.
KIPP (Knowledge Is Power Program) is a national network of free public charter schools serving underserved communities. Its mission is to prepare students for success in college and life through a strong academic foundation and a focus on character development. By partnering with KIPP SoCal, The SAMI Foundation is investing in the belief that art education plays a vital role in helping young people develop creativity, confidence, and resilience—skills that will serve them far beyond the classroom.

This collaboration reflects The SAMI Foundation’s commitment to empowering youth through access to the arts and ensuring that teachers have the resources they need to inspire the next generation.
